Job Summary

Summary

Will facilitate organ donation, including obtaining consent from next of kin and obtaining clinical, medical, and educational information on tissue donors. Additionally, I will work in cooperation with the Clinical Director to input all donor-related data into the database, ensuring that all information is current and standardized across sites.

Essential Functions
-Obtaining consent for tissue or organ donation from the Next of kin.
-Obtaining written consent from next of kin for medico-clinical documentation and establishing contact with clinicians, medical examiners, organ procurement organizations and educators for donor records.
-Arranging and conducting in-home or video-based visits to conduct diagnostic interviews.
-Entering data and documentation into the database.
-Participate in an ‘on call’ schedule with the Clinical Director to ensure 24 24-hour per day/ 7 days per week coverage for organ and tissue donations.
-Participate in regular Case Review and Audit meetings with Clinical Director to review and update new and existing (open) cases.
-Write clinical summaries following receipt of records and chart reviews following standards of practice. Oversee redaction and upload documents into a database.


 

Qualifications

Education
Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required or Master's Degree Social Work preferred or Master's Degree Psychology preferred or Master's Degree Related Field of Study preferred

Licenses and Credentials

Experience
Previous Clinical Experience 1-2 years required and Experience administering diagnostic tests 0-1 year required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Familiarity with psychological measures and instruments.
- Experience in obtaining tissue banking consent and IRB requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of clinical research protocols.
- Ability to make independent effective decisions.
