The family nurse practitioner (FNP) will serve an integral role in providing medical care via video conferencing to the Partial Hospital Program (PHP) patient population. This position combines primary care expertise with mental health integration, which prioritizes stabilization, wellness, and fluency of care. 

Qualifications include:    

  • Two years of experience as an FNP preferred. 
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution. 
  • Current and unrestricted licensure as a Texas Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), FNP. 
  • National certification as an FNP (AANP or ANCC) 
  • Active CPR/BLS Certification 
  • Must have a valid DEA number or the ability to obtain a DEA license in multiple states. 
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain licensure in multiple states. 
  • Proficient in documenting and navigating an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) independently - Mindful Health currently utilizes AdvancedMD. 
  • Experience in delivering high-quality, patient-centered, and culturally competent care. 
  • Exceptional clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability within the work environment while maintaining productivity and professionalism during defined work hours. 
  • Must be able to sit for at least 8 hours during scheduled shift. 
  • Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of e-mail systems and web-based conferencing. 
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and staff. 
  • A desire to learn & grow. 
Preferred Experience: 
  • Competent in managing psychiatric medications and understanding of psychopharmacology. 
  • Experience with co-occurring mental health, disordered eating, and substance use disorders. 
  • Telemedicine 
Job Duties Overview: 
  • Responsible for providing family medical services with an understanding of psychiatric escalation protocols based on evidence-based practice guidelines for patients in outpatient care. 
  • Responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and developing a treatment plan. 
  • Responsible for interpreting lab results as indicated. 
  • Responsible for making independent decisions based on protocols developed utilizing national guidelines for treating family medical health conditions. 
  • Responsible for maintaining customer relations with patients and referral sources. 
  • Ensures patients are comfortable and satisfied with services received via videoconferencing. 
  • Responsible for logging on to the videoconferencing platform and EMR 15 minutes before the scheduled shift to ensure the connection is stable before a virtual appointment. 
  • Responsible for notifying a care coordinator and IT Help Desk regarding any connectivity issues with virtual appointments.

Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is designed to provide intensive treatment for individuals who need structured therapy and assistance but wish to avoid inpatient hospitalization. PHP offers intensive group therapy with psychiatry services.

Employment Status: 
  • Part-time, 15 hours per week, with plans to transition to full-time employment as Mindful Health continues to grow.
