Epic Tapestry Utilization Management Application Analyst – Remote Contract

Location: Remote (Enterprise Health System – West Coast)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Epic Tapestry Utilization Management (UM) Application Analyst to join our team on a remote contract basis through the end of the year. The primary focus of this role will be to address and resolve a backlog of Tapestry UM enhancements in support of an enterprise-level health system based on the West Coast.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Epic Tapestry UM build, configuration, and workflow optimization, with the ability to work independently while collaborating with utilization management, care management, and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, prioritize, and complete a backlog of Epic Tapestry UM enhancement requests.
- Perform analysis, build, testing, and deployment of configuration changes for UM workflows.
- Collaborate with UM nurses, case managers, physicians, and IT colleagues to define and implement optimized processes.
- Configure and update UM workflows, rules, and automation to support care authorization, concurrent review, and discharge planning.
- Ensure compliance with payer guidelines, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.
- Create and maintain documentation of build changes, testing scenarios, and workflow updates.
- Participate in change control and release management processes for smooth implementations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in collaboration with operational teams.
- Communicate progress and status updates to stakeholders and leadership.
Contract Details
- Term: Immediate start through December 31, 2025
- Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week)
- Location: 100% Remote (occasional flexible hours may be required to align with West Coast time zone)
Requirements
Qualifications
- Required Epic Certification: Epic Tapestry
- Minimum 3 years of Epic Tapestry UM build and configuration experience.
- Strong understanding of utilization management, case management, and care coordination workflows.
- Experience supporting large, enterprise health systems, preferably in a managed care or integrated delivery network environment.
- Proficiency in Epic testing, validation, and change control processes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret payer guidelines and operational needs.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with related Epic Tapestry modules such as Case Management or Care Management.
- Familiarity with health plan operations and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Background in backlog management and enhancement queue processing.
