Exciting New Opportunity: Manager, Utilization Management

Join a growing organization dedicated to improving access to dental care! We are seeking a Manager of Utilization Management (UM) to oversee regional operations and drive productivity, compliance, and process improvements across multiple sites. In this role, you will manage teams, monitor workflow and metrics, support audits, and collaborate with leadership to ensure departmental goals are met.

 

📍 Position Requirement:
Candidate must be available to work Central or Eastern Time (CST/EST) hours to support departmental operations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all UM staff, including hiring, coaching, evaluating performance, and setting departmental goals.

  • Oversee supervisory teams and daily workflow, including team huddles and performance monitoring.

  • Ensure staff is properly trained and assist in developing written training materials and procedures.

  • Communicate, implement, and monitor compliance with company policies and procedures.

  • Actively participate in audits, address findings, and conduct research as needed.

  • Develop and implement process enhancements within the UM program.

  • Maintain, publish, and communicate detailed operational metrics.

  • Handle complex UM issues and review cases managed by supervisors.

  • Approve pre-estimates and referrals for timely and accurate processing.

  • Mentor and coach call center staff to ensure professionalism, motivation, and quality service

  • Collaborate with Workforce Management to optimize staffing and departmental initiatives.

  • Perform statistical analysis to identify efficiencies and improve performance.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Utilization Management or a related field.

  • Prior supervisory experience required.

  • Experience with Medicaid/Medicare audits preferred.

 

Key Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong dental knowledge highly preferred.

  • Understanding of health insurance call center operations preferred.

  • Ability to build and lead collaborative, high-performing teams.

  • Advanced analytical and reporting skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Access).

  • Effective conflict management and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and make sound decisions.

Our employees are distributed in office locations in multiple markets across the United States. We are unable to hire or allow employees to work outside of the United States.

Compensation

In the spirit of pay transparency, the base salary range for this position is $77,000 - $100,000, not including fringe benefits or potential bonuses. At Liberty, your final base salary will be determined by factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and experience. We are committed to pay equity and also consider the internal equity of our current team members when making final compensation decisions.
 

Please note that the range listed represents the full base salary range for this role. Typically, offers are not made at the top of the range to allow for future salary growth.
