Position Summary
The Visiting Nurse Consultant provides project based support for strategic, operational, clinical, quality, regulatory, financial, and organizational initiatives for Cibola General Hospital. Working under the direction of hospital leadership and project sponsors, the Consultant contributes subject matter expertise, project coordination, analysis, implementation support, and process improvement recommendations to advance organizational goals.
This role may support or lead portions of assigned projects and is responsible for performing all duties in compliance with organizational policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards. The Consultant is expected to attend and actively participate in meetings related to projects they support or lead, maintain accurate records of assigned work, and communicate effectively with stakeholders across the organization.
Work schedules and hours are determined based on organizational needs and project requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, Public Health, Finance, Information Technology, Project Management, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Three (3) or more years of experience in healthcare operations, project coordination, consulting, quality improvement, clinical operations, business operations, or a related field.
Experience supporting projects in a healthcare or hospital environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Strong written, verbal, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a critical access rural hospital setting.
Project management experience.
Experience with regulatory compliance, accreditation readiness, operational improvement, or strategic initiatives.
Professional certifications such as:
Project Management Professional (PMP)
Lean Six Sigma Certification
Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ)
Relevant healthcare, operational, or quality certifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of healthcare operations and hospital workflows.
Understanding of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and compliance requirements.
Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data.

Work Schedule
As needed position with hours worked based on project needs and organizational priorities.
Schedule may vary and may include occasional evenings or attendance at meetings outside normal business hours.
All hours worked must be accurately recorded and approved in accordance with organizational timekeeping policies.
Overtime, if applicable, must be approved in advance by the designated supervisor.
Work Environment
Work is performed in an acute care hospital environment, administrative offices, and approved remote work locations as authorized.
Frequent interaction with hospital leadership, physicians, clinicians, team members, and external stakeholders.
May require travel between hospital locations and affiliated facilities.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use computer equipment for extended periods.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to occasionally lift and carry materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
